Allardyce reacts to Rooney’s display against Swansea

Sam Allardyce was pleased with Wayne Rooney’s “contribution in possession” despite only having one shot in Everton’s 1-1 draw at Swansea. The Toffees took the lead in the first half through Kyle Naughton’s own goal before a lovely strike inside the area from Jordan Ayew gave Carlos Carvalhal’s side a share of the points. “We’ve come here and got the lead and dug out a point,” Allardyce told BBC Sport. “It was a battling point, no doubt. “There are teams fighting at the bottom and Swansea showed a lot spirit. “We held our own and it could have been a different story. I’m sure Swansea are saying they should have won it and perhaps they should but our keeper takes some beating. “Wayne Rooney only had one shot today but his contribution in possession was better than our other midfield players today and I was pleased with him.”   The post Allardyce reacts to Rooney’s display against Swansea appeared first on Football365....
