Arsenal manager Unai Emery handed Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey injury boosts ahead of crucial festive period

Former Germany international Ozil has missed Arsenal’s last five matches with a back problem, while Ramsey had been struggling with an ankle injury. Both will be at Emery’s disposal over the next few days, however, as the Gunners face Qarabag in the Europa League and Southampton in the Premier League. While Ozil and Ramsey have been passed fit, Arsenal will assess defender Shkodran Mustafi ahead of Thursday’s clash with Qarabag. Fellow defender Rob Holding is set for an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a cruciate ligament injury, while Danny Welbeck is still recovering after having surgery on his ankle.
