Arsenal Transfer Talk: Latest News Regarding Players Gunners Are Targeting

Arsenal may have a busy transfer window in its sights, as the team will try to challenge for the 2013-2014 Barclays Premier League title. Here is the latest news regarding some of the players the Gunners are targeting to help improve the team for the upcoming season. Julio CesarJamie Sanderson of Metro is reporting that Julio Cesar's agent Josias Cardoso has confirmed Cesar's exit from Queens Park Rangers at the end of the season. QPR's relegation to the Championship has been confirmed, and the team will be losing many of its players in the upcoming months. Cesar is said to be a main target of not only Arsenal, but AC Milan as well.Cardoso says that Cesar wants to be a part of a team with potential. Arsenal is looking to move on from current No. 1 goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, who has been less than stellar throughout his tenure. However, current QPR manager Harry Redknapp intends to make things a bit difficult for potential Cesar bidders. According to Hannah Duncan of Metro, Redknapp has stated that he will only part with Cesar when he is given a top offer. It is believed that Redknapp wants around £5 million for his keeper. That seems like a good price for a player of Cesar's caliber, but Arsenal could possibly get him for much cheaper. Cesar wants out of QPR no matter what. He will not play in the Championship and will most likely leave for any reasonable offer.  Rene AdlerIf the Gunners do not get Cesar, Rene Adler is another option. The German is believed to be on Arsenal's radar. However, Adler's club Hamburg has denied that there has been any contact between the two clubs to discuss the goalie's future, according to Massimo Marioni of Metro.Adler has said that he is flattered to be linked to the club but vowed that he will not lose focus for the rest of the season because of the rumors. The German is under contract with Hamburg for the next four years. If the choice comes down to either Cesar or Adler, Arsenal may be better off with Adler. He is five years younger than Cesar and has better numbers. It is uncertain how much money Adler will cost the Gunners. This could prove vital when it comes to deciding who to choose between Cesar and Adler. Morgan SchneiderlinMark Irwin of The Sun is reporting that the Gunners are preparing a bid for Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin.Arsene Wenger is said to be very interested in the Frenchman Schneiderlin and has been keeping an eye on him this season.Since the departure of Alex Song to Barcelona, Wenger has lacked a true defensive midfielder. He has mostly depended on Mikel Arteta and Abou Diaby to fill this void. However, Diaby has had an injury-plagued season and has been forced to miss numerous matches. He will be out for the beginning of next season as well.Arteta has been solid while playing as a defensive midfielder, but he is more potent when in an attacking role. The addition of Schneiderlin could be a huge boost for the Gunners, but he will not be cheap. The player signed a new contract with Southampton in February and will cost Wenger around £10 million. That price is a bit steep. While Schneiderlin is a good player, he is not worth that amount of money. Wenger may not be willing to splash that much cash on him. Read more World Football news on BleacherReport.com...
