ENGLAND LEAK: Rashford and RLC in, Alli and Sterling out?

Get in. An England team news leak. It looks like England’s XI (or at least most of it) to face Panama on Sunday has been inadvertently given away by assistant boss Steve Holland, who carelessly carried some notes about with him during the public part of England’s training session on Thursday. One piece of paper appeared to contain a team sheet, which, if accurate, reveals Dele Alli and Raheem Sterling are both out of the starting XI. Alli’s absence is no great surprise given his struggles with a quad injury. He laboured for much of the 80 minutes he was on the field against Tunisia and took no part in Thursday’s training session. Ruben Loftus-Cheek – so impressive in that 10-minute cameo on Monday – comes in. And it looks like Sterling will pay the price for his underwhelming display with another substitute from Monday, Marcus Rashford, earning a starting spot. The note, which appears to show the starting XI in formation with each player’s reserve underneath, lists “Ali (sic) – medical” separately. Alas, Holland’s thumb is obscuring the left wing-back so we’ll perhaps never know whether Ashley Young retains his place ahead of Danny Rose.
