Gary Neville sends message to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over Manchester United star Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba has suggested he wants to leave Manchester United (Picture: Getty) Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville believes Paul Pogba should be sold if he’s not fully committed to staying at the club. The Frenchman confirmed earlier this month that he would like to try a ‘new challenge’ but stopped short of requesting a departure from the club and has not handed in a transfer request. Pogba has three years to run on his deal at the Theatre of Dreams and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to keep the midfielder, promising to build his team around the 26-year-old. United believe they are in a strong position to keep Pogba but Neville, who admits Solskjaer’s side are better with the Frenchman, says he should be sold if he wants out. Neville has sympathy with Solskjaer’s problems (Picture: Getty) ‘They don’t have to keep any player,’ Neville told Sky Sports. ‘Manchester United are a better team when Paul Pogba plays but if players don’t want to be at the club – that doesn’t mean Pogba, he may want to be at the club – you have to get everybody onside and aligned with where you’re going. ‘Ultimately, that’s the first thing Ole had to do – to work out who was going to be ready for the club moving forward. I’m still unsure on many players. I see the speculation on Sky Sports News and online and it looks like it could be moving all the time. You’ve got to get players in before you let them go because being armed with the money makes you vulnerable. ‘For United, it’s all about timing and manipulating and manoeuvring to a point where they know they’re going to get players in before letting some go. Otherwise they’ll become very easy to target in terms of people bumping the money up, which I’m sure they are already.’ More: Manchester United FCTanguy Ndombele makes transfer decision amid Man Utd and Tottenham interestManchester United open talks to sign defender with £13.5m release clauseGary Neville reveals the problem Man Utd have with signing Harry Maguire United are not planning for Pogba’s departure but would want around £150m in return for allowing the Frenchman to leave the club.
