Go for it Klopp – Signing this £22m Serie A starlet could add a new dimension to Liverpool’s strong attack

Why signing Marko Pjaca could be an excellent move for Liverpool Liverpool are yet to find a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who left for Barcelona in the January transfer window. Jurgen Klopp failed in his pursuit of Lyon captain Nabil Fekir after the Reds demanded to pay a lower fee for the player. The German coach has not signed any other alternative so far. The Reds have been linked with Juventus’ Marko Pjaca. According to reports, Juventus are ready to sell their Croatian winger for a fee in the region of £22million. After winning consecutive domestic doubles with Dinamo Zagreb, Pjaca made the move to Juventus in 2016. Currently, Pjaca is with the Croatian team in the World Cup and they will face France in the finals after defeating England 2-1. The player has also won consecutive league titles with the Serie A champions but was loaned out to Schalke 04 for the second half of last season. The 23-year-old made a total of 7 appearances in the Bundesliga last season, scoring 2 goals in the process. The winger is also capable of playing as a striker, meaning he is quite versatile. He has often been deployed as a winger for the Croatian national team but also plays as a striker for clubs. He is a quick dribbler and is known to utilise his pace to get past opposition defenders. At the age of 23, Pjaca is capable of terrorising defences on his own. That said, he may not be the kind of player Liverpool want right now. He is not a creative attacking midfielder like Coutinho but the Croatian will offer the Reds’ famed attack a new dimension. Moreover, Liverpool were heavily dependent on their infamous attacking trio last season. If they are to win trophies, they cannot afford to put all their eggs in one basket. In fact, a lack of attacking depth is what ultimately led to Liverpool’s demise in Kiev after the club lost Mohammed Salah to injury in the first-half. They were forced to bring on Adam Lallana, who had barely played any games throughout the season.
