Liverpool offered fresh hope over £72.7m Keita January deal

Liverpool have been given fresh hope in their push to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig this month. The Reds agreed a deal to sign Keita next summer in August, paying his £48million release clause with an added £7m premium on top. But the £142m sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona has convinced Liverpool that they may need a replacement for the Brazilian as soon as possible. Leipzig have been insistent that Keita will not leave for Anfield before his planned summer departure, with the Bundesliga club concentrating on a Europa League campaign. The sum Leipzig are asking for is said to be between £13.2m and £17.7m, meaning his final price would be between £68.2m and £72.7m.
