Luka Modric wins FIFA The Best award; ends Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi duopoly

Croatia captain and Real Madrid star Luka Modric has been named the Best FIFA Men's Player in 2018 after winning the Golden Ball award at the World Cup. After leading France to World Cup glory in Russia, Didier Deschamps has been named the Best FIFA Men's Coach for 2018. Real Madrid and Belgium's Thibaut Courtois has been named the Best FIFA Men's Goalkeeper in 2018 after winning the Golden Glove award at World Cup in Russia. Croatia manager Zlatko Dalic believes Luka Modric has been the best player in every competition he played in last season and was more consistent than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Real Madrid's Luka Modric claimed FIFA's The Best award for 2018 to end Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi's decade-long hold on world football's top player prize.
