Manchester City winger reveals he snubbed Klopp twice

Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane has revealed that he twice snubbed the opportunity to play under Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp. Sane, who is due to line-up against the Reds at Anfield on Sunday, has admitted that Klopp tried to persuade him to snub a move to The Etihad in 2016 in favour of joining Liverpool. That wasn’t, however, the first time that Klopp had tried to sign the winger – who has been in outstanding form as City have pulled away from the competition in the race for the Premier League title. While Klopp was in charge of Borussia Dortmund, his right-hand man, David Wagner, tried to convince him to take a chance on the then Schalke starlet. Sane, however, did not want to upset Schalke and move to a Bundesliga rival, so opted to stay put. The 22-year-old has since rubbed Klopp’s nose in it as he bagged a brace in City’s stunning 5-0 win over the Reds back in September. Sane, who was snapped up by City boss Pep Guardiola in the summer of 2016, admitted: “Before I joined City, I was talking with them. Jurgen was calling me. He did a good job at Dortmund. I met him when he was there. “He’s a good guy, a nice guy — honest. And he works well with Liverpool.” The post Manchester City winger reveals he snubbed Klopp twice appeared first on Football365....
