Manchester United refuse to meet Sporting Lisbon’s £70m Bruno Fernandes asking price

The Portugal international is expected to leave Sporting this summer after a sensational campaign last season where he scored 31 goals from midfield. The 24-year-old’s agent has reportedly met with Tottenham and United officials in the last fortnight over a move to the Premier League but the Red Devils want to focus on the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka before concentrating on a midfielder. However, the Telegraph claims Solskjaer wants the midfielder to be signed at the ‘earliest opportunity’ but United will not meet Sporting’s valuation of the Portugal star. Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera have departed since Solskjaer’s appointment and the Norwegian is considering more reinforcements on top of a move for Fernandes.
