Marcus Rashford’s brother trolls Jose Mourinho after Manchester United’s victory over Spurs

The Portuguese coach, who was sacked by United a year ago, had won his first three matches in charge of Spurs but watched on from his old dugout as Rashford scored a brace in a 2-1 victory for the hosts at Old Trafford on Wednesday night. Rashford’s first effort was a ferocious near-post hit that flew past Paulo Gazzaniga, while his second was from the penalty spot after he was brought down by Moussa Sissoko. A proper Old Trafford night and a great three points.’ Suggestions that Rashford was glad to get one over Mourinho were added to further when his brother, Dwaine Maynard, posted a picture on his Instagram stories of the Spurs boss looking rather glum. On closer inspection, the picture of Mourinho was from last season’s Champions League clash with Young Boys – a game in which the then United manager notably took a pop at Rashford. Mourinho looked incredulous on the sidelines, turning away in disgust, crossing his arms and shaking his head in disbelief – which is the very image Rashford’s brother decided to upload to Instagram. Mourinho had defended his reaction at the time, saying: ‘It’s difficult for us to score goals, but Marcus makes the runs, works hard when we do and don’t have the ball and I can never blame a player because of a missing chances. ‘Can I have on the touchline – where not a lot of the ones that comment on football were there – can myself or another manager [have a] reaction of frustration? For those who have a nice life, it’s different.’ Rashford had the last laugh, of course, with his brace seeing United leapfrog Mourinho’s Spurs and they now sit in sixth place in the Premier League table, while the England striker has nine goals this season.
