Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explains Daniel James’ impressive versatility ahead of his debut Manchester United season

The 21-year-old has made a great impression since arriving from Swansea earlier this summer, in training and in his first friendly appearance against Perth Glory. The Welshman won the Man of the Match award against the Australian side and United fans can expect to see him on either flank or, more surprisingly, in a central role this season. ‘Dan can play all across the front line,’ said Solskjaer. ‘Obviously more right or left wing but he can play through the middle as well. Antony played No 9 today and it’s good for us all to interlink and we swapped a few times and it’s good to play all three.’ More: ShowbizAmanda Holden proves she’s never not working as she takes radio mic muff on holidayWhy hasn't Stranger Things received any Emmy nominations?Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer explains Daniel James' impressive versatility The youngster will be back in action for the Red Devils on Wednesday, again in Perth, but against Championship side Leeds United, before heading to Singapore to play Inter Milan on Saturday. With negotiations still ongoing over Romelu Lukaku moving to Inter Milan this summer and no forwards being signed, as yet, it looks more and more likely that the speedy Welshman will be playing a big role in his debut season with United.
