The Red Devils have managed just four wins from 14 games in the Premier League this season and are languishing down in ninth following their 2-2 draw with Aston Villa on Sunday. Solskjaer now faces a desperate battle to secure Champions League football and defeat at home to Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham on Wednesday night could spell the end for the Norwegian. Mauricio Pochettino has been on United’s radar since as far back as 2016 and the Argentine has once again been heavily linked with the club since being sacked by Tottenham. You look back two or three weeks ago and they were playing really well, good football and you think maybe they’re not too far away. ‘Then they have a spell again, a couple of injuries and you’re thinking they need three or four transfer windows again. Hopefully Ole can turn it around.’ Solskjaer heaped praise on Grealish after United’s clash with Villa (Picture: Getty) Jack Grealish produced an outstanding performance as United drop points at home to Villa and Solskjaer praised the young midfielder after the final whistle. Asked if Grealish is a player who United would target, Solskjaer replied with a smile: ‘I can’t talk too much about other teams’ players if they are Man United calibre or targets. ‘But fantastic goal. I think he’s hit one of those corners that I’ve hit a couple of times. ‘It was a great finish but then again we should defend better and show him down the left. ‘But what a goal and he played a good game, definitely.’ MORE: Wayne Rooney backs Everton to cause a shock against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby...
