Wenger denies Neville theory about Arsenal resignation

Arsene Wenger has denied that he will leave Arsenal in the summer, insisting that he will see out his current contract at the very least. Wenger signed a two-year contract extension with the Gunners in summer 2017, but Arsenal have failed to improve under his management once more. There have been suggestions that the Frenchman could decide to leave at the end of this season with one year remaining on his contract. Gary Neville believes this will be Wenger’s final year in charge. “I think it might be a situation where they say, ‘We’ll give you a two-year contract,’ that puts the questions to bed for another 18 months,” he said earlier this month. “But actually, next summer when no-one expects it, we’ll wake up one morning and he’ll say ‘I’m resigning as Arsenal manager.’ That’s a fact, I know that will happen because he will not be able to tell anyone he’s doing it, just like Sir Alex Ferguson. “So I think this may be Arsene Wenger’s last season at Arsenal and they’ve thrown everyone with the two-year contract.” According to the man himself however, there is no such plan. “I have always respected my contracts,’ Wenger told beIN Sports. “I would like to remind you I said no to all the biggest clubs in the world to respect my contract so that’s always what I try to do. “After that we have as well to accept in our job that the future is the future but for me that’s to win the next game. “We have to perform better in every single game and show until the end of the season a complete hunger to win every single game. That’s what it’s about for us.” The post Wenger denies Neville theory about Arsenal resignation appeared first on Football365....
